Intermediate
Examination
Candidates
must have passed the Elementary Examination, should have the ability
to apply their knowledge in practical ways, and are expected to
show:
A deeper
knowledge and understanding of, and experience in, British heraldry
Some knowledge of foreign heraldry
That they have carried out some research work in heraldry and
have already completed a substantial proportion of a particular
project
Awareness of modern usage in heraldry
Knowledge of medieval heraldry
Knowledge of the Law of Arms in England/Wales/Northern Ireland
and Scotland
NOTE:
In one of the question papers there is a question which requires
practical use of two books - Burke's General Armory and Papworth's
Ordinary of Arms, and it is the responsibility of the candidate
to bring copies into the Examination Room.
