Octavo hardback (of the same size as the Coat of Arms but double the thickness) 498+xiv pages, illustrated in full colour throughout. The volume contains a total of 39 papers, of which 29 are heraldic, and all are in English.

The theme of the Congress was Reformation, Revolution, Restoration, with subject matter ranging from the medieval to the modern, including seals, rolls of arms, the work of the heralds, military orders, the nobility, and royal heraldry. The authors include many who will be familiar to Heraldry Society members, having previously published items in the Coat of Arms, or having delivered lectures to the Society. They include: The Lord Lyon, Elizabeth Roads, Adrian Ailes, Richard d’Apice, John Titterton, Torsten Hiltmann, Steen Clemmensen, Nati Nagar, Andrew Gray, Joseph McMillan, David Appleton, Peter Howarth and Steven Ashley. The remaining authors are primarily distinguished international heraldists. The heraldry of many nations is touched upon, but with a principal focus on England, Scotland and the U.S.A.
