Do you have a heraldry-related query or mystery to solve?
The Heraldry Society cannot undertake research into heraldic or genealogical problems for you, but we may be able to help you find the reference sources you need:
- First, look at our Frequently Asked Questions.
- Next, consult our Links pages, in particular:
- Might the answer lie in one of the collections published under our Heraldry Archive project?
- If the question relates to:
- England or Wales, try the collections of the College of Arms, whose Officer in Waiting will be happy to respond;
- Scotland, contact the Court of the Lord Lyon;
- Ireland, consult the Chief Herald of Ireland;
- Canada, ask the Canadian Heraldic Authority.
- If you are in London, consider the priceless antiquarian resources of:
- The Society’s own library is chiefly lodged with the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies in Canterbury.
- Share your question with other enthusiasts, on Facebook or Twitter.
- Put your question (or its solution) in print in the Heraldry Gazette.
