Collected and sett downe by W. Smith, Citizen of Norembergh'. Of Oldhaugh in Warmingham, Cheshire, innkeeper in Nuremberg between 1578 and 1585, where he married Frances Astensteig. This is the earliest surviving manuscript of the work; it was written about 1585. The work concludes with 'Armes in Cheshire after the maner of the Alphabeth' with those of Smith and his wife on the last leaf.
