Visitation of Devon 1531 Visitations proper originated in letters patent to Thomas Benolt, Clarenceux, of 19 April 1530. Original rough copies of visitations made in 1530-1 are in the College of Heralds H20 and 18. Here is an early 17th Century copy of 'Devonshire Visitation ... the 22 of King Henry the 8th ano 1531'.
