Notes

Artist: Quentin Peacock
The armiger is Lord of the Manor of Heathfield, a Market Town in East Sussex, and is a Member of the Manorial Society of Great Britain. The arms utilize the armiger’s favourite colour of green, which is also represented on the town flag of Heathfield. His beloved Persian cat Autumn is situated upon the crest, holding a fleam, which reflects the armiger’s vocation as a Physician. Four Caribbean Hermit Crabs are featured in saltire, these being a reference to the armiger’s hobby of crab-keeping, as well as his Scottish heritage as a member of Clan Rutherford, an Armigerous Clan, presently without a Chief.
The Latin motto “Sic Vita Est” meaning “such is life” or “thus is life” in the Scottish tradition “answers” that of the Clan’s motto “Nec Sorte, Nec Fato (Neither by chance nor fate).
