Badge: A wake knot compony Or and Sable each end terminating in a Dragon’s head Gules
The Arms include references to the Armigers Father and Grandfather. Vair was chosen as a reference to Red Squirrels which appeared in the Arms of the Samuel family in the sixteenth century. The three pigs heads represent the Armigers children and are included as the pig is an intelligent but under-regarded animal. The colours in chief are indicative of Glyn’s Father who worked with precious metals and his Grandfather who worked in the oil industry. The engrailing appears like postage stamp perforations as the Armiger’s Father was a well-known philatelist.
The dragons wings in the crest allude to a Welsh heritage. The Badge of a Carrick bend (Wake knot) references Irish lineage on his Mother’s side.
The Armiger is the Worshipful Chancellor and Vicar-General of the Diocese of Coventry, Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Leeds and Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Birmingham.
